Yesterday Rosa showed off her workspace, and now, in the spirit of our Supercharge Your Workspace week, it's time for a guided tour of of my desk—and the tools I use to get things done on a daily basis..
(Click the image above for a closer look.)
You can see my workspace, complete with the Jerker IKEA desk, dual monitors, multi-function printer and regular old laser printer pretty easily, and most of that is relatively self-explanatory. So let's move onto a few of the finer, more interesting (to me, at least) points.
First, you may notice my Jerker desk has a slightly non-standard feature: the monitor stand. Eagle-eyed readers will recognize the idea as inspired by a previous post about making DIY TV or monitor stand from door stoppers. It was cheap and easy.
Again inspired by a reader-submitted DIY post, my iPhone is propped up by this simple DIY paper clip stand. It took like two seconds to make, and it works like a charm. (Incidentally, the clock app that's running is FlipTime.)
See this little black gadget underneath the stand? (I love this monitor stand.) It's the previously mentioned USB SATA hard drive dock, and it's pretty damn cool when you're someone who's gathered a fair collection of spare hard drives over the years.
So there's your peek at my workspace and a few of my favorite features. If you've got any questions about anything I didn't mention, let's hear it in the comments.
